Staff Roles

  • Principal:
    • Oversees entire school operations, including culture, curriculum, and pedagogy.
    • Community-facing figure, collaborates with community partners for programs.
    • Sets strategic direction and serves as the instructional leader.
    • Contact for: partnerships, whole-school programming, integrity and complaints.
  • Business Manager (BM):
    • Manages finance and assets, including buildings.
    • HR Responsibilities include teacher aides, ancillary and cleaning staff.
    • Collaborates with the principal to ensure efficient resource use.
    • Contact for: venue hire and payment plans.
  • Deputy Principals (DP):
    • Work with the principal on strategic direction.
    • Develop, maintain and oversees whole-school programs.
    • Responsible for student discipline for ongoing or major behaviours.
    • Contact for: school events, school-wide support, bullying, attendance, changes to school programming.
  • Head of Departments (HOD):
    • Leads and manages specific academic departments, including HR and budgets.
    • Responsible for curriculum development and teacher supervision (including curriculum delivery, consistent pedagogical approach, and reporting).
    • Contact for: if you're having difficulty speaking with a teacher, your next step is the curriculum HOD.
  • Guidance Officer (GO):
    • Works with students who seek tertiary studies.
    • Oversees all aspects relating to mental health and wellbeing of students.
    • Works with external agencies to ensure holistic support.
    • Contact for: any mental health concerns / GPs in Schools.
  • House Leaders:
    • Oversee pastoral care and well-being of students within specific houses.
    • Main focus: house culture, attendance, and uniform.
    • Contact for: initial conversations around support for your student / family.  Uniform and/or attendance difficulties.

 

 

 

  • Community Education Councillor (CEC)
    • Provide educational counselling and support services within schools to ensure that the best possible assistance services are available to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children, students, families and communities.
    • Provide cross cultural awareness training to the broader school community.
    • Contact for: Anything related to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student/families.
  • Teachers:
    • Deliver curriculum content, assess student progress, and provide support.
    • Collaborate with department heads and other teachers for a holistic educational experience.
    • Contact for: Teachers should be your first point-of-contact as they work with your student for the most amount of time at school and can often best answer your question.
