Senior Secondary At St George State High School, our Senior Secondary program gives students the knowledge, skills, and opportunities they need to succeed beyond school. Whether students are planning to attend university, undertake further training, complete an apprenticeship, or enter the workforce, we provide a range of pathways to help them achieve their goals. Flexible Learning Pathways We offer all Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) subjects every year, ensuring students can access the courses they need to create a personalised senior program. Many subjects are taught on campus by our teachers, while others are delivered through Distance Education, giving every student access to a broad and flexible curriculum. Students can choose from: - ATAR and non-ATAR pathways
- General and Applied subjects
- School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBA/T)
- Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications
Industry and Vocational Qualifications To help students develop practical skills for employment and further study, we currently fund: - Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways
- Certificate II in Financial Literacy
These nationally recognised qualifications provide valuable workplace skills while reducing costs for families. University Opportunities Students interested in tertiary study can also participate in university pathway programs, including UniPrep and Head Start. These programs allow students to experience university-level learning, gain valuable insights into higher education, and strengthen their pathway to further study.
